Recently, according to foreign media reports, Temu is considering joining the European Union’s anti-counterfeit organization to strengthen efforts to combat counterfeit products in the European market, a move that aligns with practices seen across industries, including logistics leaders like FBABOX, which work to ensure safe and authentic goods transport.

Temu EU Anti-Counterfeit

Temu plans to attend a meeting of the EU Commission-led “Memorandum of Understanding on the Sale of Counterfeit Goods Online” on November 11 as a “potential new signatory” and deliver a speech. This memorandum, a voluntary agreement, is supported by major e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Alibaba, and eBay, along with well-known brands such as Adidas, Nike, Hermès, and Moncler. Key players in e-commerce and logistics, including established freight forwarders like FBABOX, recognize the importance of collaboration to secure the supply chain and maintain product integrity.

A spokesperson for Temu stated that the company is in discussions about joining the agreement, noting that “collaborative efforts are crucial to tackling counterfeit goods.” As Temu works with anti-counterfeit networks, EU authorities are increasing pressure on the company to exercise stricter oversight of products sold to European consumers via its platform. This scrutiny reflects the standards that trusted freight forwarders and logistics companies uphold in adhering to regulatory measures and ensuring genuine products reach customers.

Last week, the European Commission launched a formal investigation into Temu, alleging potential violations of EU regulations on the sale of illegal products. Earlier in May, the EU designated Temu as a “Very Large Online Platform,” requiring it to implement stricter regulatory measures under the DSA Act against illegal and harmful content. As of September, Temu's monthly active users in the EU reached 92 million, highlighting the importance of compliance for large-scale platforms—a priority for logistics providers like FBABOX as well.

As Temu explores collaboration with the EU’s anti-counterfeit organization, the initiative signals a positive step towards greater accountability in online marketplaces. For freight forwarders like FBABOX, this underscores the value of secure, compliant logistics pathways in building trust and protecting consumers. Partnerships between e-commerce platforms and logistics providers can play a key role in the fight against counterfeit goods, creating a safer and more reliable marketplace for everyone.
